主要研究领域涵盖实验语用学、语料库语用学、网络语用学和数字人文等多个方向，聚焦语言使用的跨文化差异、多模态表达形式及其认知加工机制。特别关注多模态言语行为感知。同时，将数字人文方法引入语言研究，运用笔测迟丑辞苍、搁语言、复杂网络分析等工具，对社交媒体语言、新媒体话语与网络文化进行数据驱动的多层次分析。

Research Interests
Fang Xie's research spans across experimental pragmatics, corpus pragmatics, internet pragmatics, and digital humanities. Her work centers on cross-cultural differences in language use, multimodal speech act perception, and the cognitive mechanisms underlying these processes. She is particularly interested in how multimodal cues—such as gestures, facial expressions, emojis, and prosodic features—influence the interpretation of speech acts like compliments and apologies. Integrating digital humanities into linguistic inquiry, she employs data-driven methods using tools such as Python, R, and complex network analysis to examine social media discourse, new media communication, and online language behavior.
